Grandma's Birthday Card

This card is one I made for my Grandma. I wasn't sure about this stamp "From the Garden", its a hostess level 1 stamp, but it stamps a beautiful image. I stamped in versamark onto vellum cardstock and then embossed with pearly white, gold and clear embossing mixed , a mixture helpfully made by my son. The embossing shows up a lot better when the card catches the light, for blogging purposes gold would have been better! The image was then coloured on the reverse using perfect plum and mellow moss markers. the card was finished off with a greeting from the Wow Flowers set.

Supplies:
Stamps: From the Garden and Wow Flowers
Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Mellow Moss and Vellum Cardstock
Ink: Versamark, Perfect Plum and Mellow Moss Markers
Accessories: Oval and Scallop Oval punches, gold brads, clear, gold and pearly white embossing powders.

Everything is from Stampin' Up! except the pearly white embossing powder.

Joseph's Door Plaque

This weekend I have been making a door plaque for my son Joseph. To make one of these you will need two coasters for every letter in the name you are using, chipboard letters for each letter, a length of ribbon, scraps of designer paper and an ink pad of your choice and some plain coloured card stock.

Measure the size of your coaster then cut a front piece (in the designer paper) for every letter and a back piece (in the plain card stock). Cover the coasters with s front of back piece of paper so every coaster has one covered side. Take the chipboard letters and colour them using the ink pad. While these are dying line up the back coaster and place a line of sticky strip across the middle of each one. Peel the backing off and cover with the ribbon. Stick the front panels onto the back. Finally when your chipboard letters have dried, glue the onto the front of your door plaque.

Daisy daisy..

...at least I think it looks like a daisy. This card was made using the Organic Grace set, which you can earn as a level 1 hostess set. The fern leaves were stamped first, positioned using the stamp-a-ma-jig. I then stamped three flowers on a piece of separate whisper white white. The middles are coloured with a so saffron marker and the edges water coloured with barley banana, this is hard to see on the photo though. I then cut the flowers out and placed them on the card using stampin dimensionals. I love the way that they just fit together so well.

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Organic Grace, Cheer & Wishes
  • Cardstock: Whisper White, So Saffron & Always Artichoke
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Barley Banana marker
  • Accessories: stampin dimensionals

One design, two cards

These two cards were both done using the Organic Grace set which is a level 1 hostess set. I wanted to try out some different background ideas. The top card was done by stamping the cow parsley image in Versamark and heat embossing with clear powder. I then chalked over the image in night of navy chalk to create the soft background. This didn't show up to well on the camera so I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig and stamped over the images in black stazon to highlight them. The second card was started in the same way but the background was created using the brayer and bashful blue ink, which seems to have gone very dark. Both card were finished off with rub-ons from the Cherished Memories collection. Although it didn't turn out exactly as I planned I prefer the chalked card.
Supplies:
  • Stamps: Organic Grace
  • Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White and Old Olive
  • Ink: Versamark and black stazon, bashful blue
  • Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig, heat embosser, clear embossing powder, brayer, stampin pastels, Chersished memories rub-ons, corner rounder punch
