Simply... 2 Sketches for U Challenge # 48

This is my card for this weeks entry into the 2 Sketches for U challenge, you can find details here. The background paper was made by stamping the dotty flower from Simply Said in Green Galore, the small flower comes from Flight of the Butterfly and were stamped in Chocolate Chip. The main image is also from the Flight of the Butterfly set and this was first stamped in Pixie Pink, followed by the flower layer in Chocolate Chip. The card was finished off with some double stitch Chocolate Chip ribbon, I just love this range of ribbon and have all three colours, fingers crossed for some more! Remember throughout March when you buy Simply Said, Flight of the Butterfly, In the Stars, Oval All or Simply Scallops stamps sets you can get the co-ordinating punch at 20% , that's just £10.00. Tractor Birthday Card

It is my partner's dad's birthday on Monday and this is the card I have made for him as he likes vintage tractor's. I have been informed by my partner that it's not the right tractor, but they're all the same to me...it's the right colour anyhow. The main image was created by brayering a background of Certainly Celery, I'm not great at brayering but practice makes perfect as they say, so should maybe make some more. The image was then stamped in black and coloured with SU markers in Ruby Red. The grass tufts are stamped in Certainly Celery. The background was made by stamping the wellie stamp (from the sadly retired Scene in a Garden set) in distress ink in Old Paper on Very Vanilla cardstock. These were matted onto Chocolate Chip cardstock. The greeting embellishment is stamped in Chocolate Chip and is from the Vintage Labels set. The pewter frame comes from a Hodgepodge Hardware set, which again has retired in this colour. Thats all for now, hope he likes the card!

Happy Moments set of Four

This little set of cards was made using the Happy Moments set which one of the sale-a-bration freebie sets, although sale-a-bration is now over I thought I'd still show these cards, as like many of you with this set I'm still playing. The background pattern was created using a stamp from the Circle Circus set, a great one for backgrounds and accents. The focal images and sentiments come from Happy Moments, there are two cards with "thank you" as the greeting and two with "Happy Birthday". The colour combinations for each card are: Rose Red and Pretty in Pink, Ballet Blue and Bashful Blue, Old Olive and Certainly Celery, Perfect Plum and Pale Plum. I think my favourite is the green version as I just love the bird in a cage stamp.

Diamond Top Card

Today I decided top have a go at the Diamond Top card style. I chose to use an A5 sheet as the base card. I got my instructions from a dvd which I own. The card was cut so it was 14cm in width instead of 15cm. Then fold your piece of card in half and score with a bone folder. Score a line across the folded card at 7cm. Fold this top area both ways to create a deep scoreline. Next mark 9cm on the spine of your card and 12cm at the opening side. Score a line across both of these points. Then fold this score line bothways. Your diamond should now appear if you push both ends inwards. For the base of my card I used Blush Blossom and matted with Pretty in Pink. The images are from the Out of the Box level 1 hostess set and they were stamped in Regal Rose. The greeting comes from Nursery Necessities.

Cupcakes and Cocoa

Today's card is just a quick and simple card using Crazy for Cupcakes and the co-ordinating cupcake wheel. The boarder was creating using the cupcake wheel and Close to Cocoa ink. The little cupcakes were then coloured with Stampin' Up! markers. The main image was stamped in black and then coloured with markers. To make the bun case, the large cupcake was stamped again onto Tea Party dsp and then cut out. The card was finished off with a greeting from the same set.

Greenhouse Garden for Mojo Monday Challenge

This is the card I have made for this week's Mojo Monday challenge, you can find details here. I chose to use Greenhouse Garden as its a set I've just bought. The flowers are stamped in Pretty in Pink with Pixie Pink over the top. The stems are Certainly Celery with Old Olive over the top. The background paper comes from the Tea Party collection, I know this is appearing a lot recently but I just love it. The greeting comes from the Wow Flowers collection and has been stamped on punched out tab using the round tab punch. The ribbon is embellished with two Certainly Celery brads.
